Do you ever get the creeps in an old hut? Goosebumps? Does your hair stand on end?
Our EVS volunteer Diego from Spain got the creeps at the Stara Pekarna (Old Bakery). He wanted others to experience them as well. In 2015, we helped him create the first House of Horrors – a spatial installation that still scares the hell out of hundreds of visitors and makes Halloween a nightmare.
The House of Horror moved from the Stara pekarna to the eerie Turn castle, where it underwent a scenic, thematic and technical rebirth. Since 2022, characters from cult horror films and other dark creatures have been gathering in the abandoned Gorica Manor. They frighten about 700 visitors over 7 days at the end of October. There are about 20 colleagues behind the scenes that come up with something more unexpected, cruel and disgusting every year.
