As part of the project, we will organise educational and training activities for young people on the topic of precarity. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
More about the EU project.
The Ministry of Education published a public call last year titled “Addressing Youth Precarity through Youth Work.” A total of 50 projects were selected through the call, with an overall funding value of €5,008,269.50, of which €2,744,055.04 was allocated to the Cohesion Region of Eastern Slovenia (KRVS).
Our project was also among those selected. The project started on 1st of June 2024 and will run until 31st of December 2026.
The public call for the selection of operations is co-financed by the European Union, specifically through the European Social Fund Plus.
The public call is implemented within the framework of the European Cohesion Policy Programme in Slovenia for the period 2021–2027.
The term precarity refers to uncertain, short-term, temporary, and occasional paid employment. Such work can be carried out within an employment relationship, usually on the basis of a fixed-term employment contract, or outside an employment relationship, typically based on civil law contracts, especially service contracts or copyright contracts.

The aim of the project is to increase the security of young people, who represent a vulnerable group on the labour market, by empowering and raising their awareness through knowledge on the topic of precarity.
EU financial support amounts to €74,001.34.
The goal of the project is to train and empower young people on the issue of precarity by establishing a supportive environment within the youth sector.
The subject of the project is to inform young people, organisations in the youth sector, and the public about the issue of precarity among youth, and to implement pilot projects at the local level in both cohesion regions. Within the framework of youth work, young people will be made aware of the challenges of precarity and the importance of labour and social rights, while also being offered counselling and support.
Target group: Participants are young people aged between 15 and 29 on the date of entry into the operation.
Implementation period: 1.6. 2024 - 31.12.2026
More information is available on the website: https://evropskasredstva.si

The project focuses on the preparation and implementation of a training programme for young people. Through this programme, we aim to equip them with knowledge about the labour market, with a particular emphasis on precarious work.
Our goal is to empower young people by familiarising them with a wider range of topics related to the labour market, workers' rights, legislation, and to encourage them to plan their own career paths. We also aim to promote financial literacy and highlight the importance of mental health in relation to decent work.
The training will raise awareness of the risks present in the labour market, but also introduce young people to good alternatives. This way, we aim to prepare them not only for a successful entry into the labour market, but also for adult life – where choosing a job plays a significant role.
After the training, participants will receive continued support through individual career counselling and job market guidance.
