What do you do?
I am responsible for organizing, planning, leading, and implementing projects for the volunteer group Udarnik MC Velenje, which offers assistance to vulnerable groups. We cooperate with other organizations in the field of social welfare services. As a mentor and coordinator of volunteers in the group, I focus on developing and promoting volunteer work in the local environment and recruiting new volunteers. I am the first point of contact for service users, for whom I find appropriate mechanisms of help, organize, and lead fieldwork groups. I also advise users on solving applications, requests, and additional referrals.
My favourite memories from childhood or youth are tied to growing up in a poor but warm environment, wild fun, and the thrill of walking on the edge.
The time young people live in today is mainly more protective of young people.
As a teenager, the hardest things for me were homework and school obligations.
From that time, I miss the carefreeness and a life without responsibilities.
With friends, I liked to challenge law enforcement and help people in need.
I liked (though I shouldn't have) smoking and drinking.
Today, I keep myself young by being open-minded and open-hearted.
Today, I would tell my younger self that laws are not meant to be broken.
What I like most about working with young people is their enthusiasm and empathy.
